Plot

"Brigada" is a Russian crime drama series released in 2002, which has become a cult following due to its plausible interpretation of life and relationships among the criminal world of the early 1990s in Russia. The plot focuses on four childhood friends — Sasha Bely (Alexander Nikolaevich Belov), Pchyola (Viktor Pavlovich Pchelkin), Phil (Valery Konstantinovich Filatov) and Kos (Kosmos Yuryevich Kholmogorov), who grew up in the same school and dreamed of a successful life. However, the world around them is changing, and due to economic and social changes in the country, they find themselves involved in criminal activities.

Sasha Bely, the central character, is an ambitious and charismatic young man who dreams of quick success. At the beginning of the series, he and his friends find themselves in difficult circumstances when, as crime increases due to the collapse of the Soviet Union, they face the need to survive in a new, dangerous world. Gradually, they begin to engage in banditry, participating in raiding, drug trafficking and other illegal activities.

It will not do without romantic lines. Sasha's heart is filled with love for Olga, a beautiful and independent girl, which adds emotional depth to the plot. Their relationship is repeatedly tested by various circumstances, including against the background of a choice between personal ambitions and feelings.

The members of the brigade face various conflicts: a struggle for power with other criminal gangs, betrayal among their own and a forced choice between friendship and the thirst for profit. In particular, an important part of the plot is the tension between Sasha and his friend Bee, when disagreements in their approaches to life and criminal activity begin to undermine their friendship. This dynamic leads to a variety of dramatic events, including murders and betrayals.
