A brief description of the events of the series
Good Omens is a miniseries based on the novel of the same name by Neil Gaiman and Terry Pratchett, which was released in 2019. The plot revolves around the unusual friendship between the angel Aziraphale and the demon Crowley, who have become close friends over the centuries. Like many other creatures, they are tired of their heavenly and hellish duties and enjoy life on Earth, becoming imbued with its ordinariness, and even doing petty dirty tricks together.
One day, when a big event is taking place in the world — the release of the Antichrist, Aziraphale and Crowley realize that the apocalypse is near. However, instead of being happy about it, they are saddened by it. Both of them have become attached to the Earth and its inhabitants, and do not want the world to come to an end. As a result, they decide together to prevent this apocalypse and save the world from an imminent catastrophe.
The Antichrist turns out to be a boy named Adam, who was substituted at birth and grew up in a small English town. Far from his true purpose, Adam lives a normal life with his friends, the "Unlucky Children" who play with him and become his faithful companions. However, his true powers begin to manifest, and soon he is faced with the need to make a choice between good and evil.
In parallel with these events, active actions are underway from various sides, including the local order of the Invisible Sheep, which is trying to stop the Antichrist. The head of this order is an eccentric prophet expert who is trying to decipher ancient texts and find ways to prevent the apocalypse. The plot is full of many comical and dramatic situations in which the life paths of an angel, a demon and a good boy intersect.
Aziraphale and Crowley, finding themselves in difficult situations, begin to interact with other characters, including a witch who has cracked her prophecy, and a policeman who is entangled in the mystical events around them. Each of these characters adds their own colors to the plot, making it even more exciting and multi-layered.
The final part of the series leads to the fact that the world can be saved through understanding and friendship, which is the central theme of "Good Omens."
