"The Leftovers" is an American supernatural drama television series created by Damon Lindelof and Tom Perrotta that originally aired on HBO from June 29, 2014, to June 4, 2017. Based on the book of the same name written by Tom Perrotta, the series is set three years after a mysterious global phenomenon that suddenly causes approximately 2% of the world's population to disappear. The series focuses on how the remaining people try to cope with the aftermath of this inexplicable event and rebuild their lives. The series centers on Police Chief Kevin Garvey, played by Justin Theroux, and his family, grieving widow Nora Durst, played by Carrie Coon, and her religious brother, Reverend Matt Jamison, played by Christopher Eccleston.
